Why become a member of AIRSO?

AIRSO provides for Members to express their views on road safety issues and gives direct access to experts and policy makers in all areas of road safety. You will gain from the personal contact and networking with professionals working in the field of Road Safety.

AIRSO provides a range of low cost Seminars on a variety of road safety issues in order to increase the knowledge of its membership.

AIRSO arranges seminars to reply to specific consultation documents giving Members an opportunity to understand the complexities of any proposed changes and to share in any response which is made.

AIRSO holds five⁄six General Meetings each year, of a conference style, comprising quality road safety presentations and debates at various locations throughout the United Kingdom.

AIRSO is a key player in the field of Managing Occupational Road Risk being able to guide Members towards the development of policies appropriate to reducing at work road safety crashes and collisions.

AIRSO through its range of activities is essential for your Continuing Professional Development and as a means to keep you up to date with new road safety initiatives.


Communicating with our Members

AIRSO Members have access to the password protected "Members Section" of the Association's Website where you will find road safety information and the directory of all Members thereby the sources to gain⁄share information and advice for the further improvement of road user behaviour, attitude and skills. Members are kept up to date via email communication on a regular (approximately weekly) basis and by means of regular mailings throughout the year.

AIRSO's web site includes password-protected "Members Only" pages provide members with immediate access to a range of material.

  • Many of AIRSO's formal documents
  • A complete copy of AIRSO's "Position Statements", setting out AIRSO's official position (i.e. opinion) on the topics from bull bars to speed, from CBT to theory tests.
  • Copies of AIRSO's responses to Government consultation papers.
  • Minutes of AGMs, and notes from general meetings.
