The prestigious Conference Dinner will held on the evening of Wednesday 30th August that includes an opportunity to hear from our guest speaker, former Liberal Democrat MP Lembit Opik, the Director of Communications and Public Affairs for the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG)
Either side of the Dinner this years’ conferences are not to be missed:
- National Truck and Bus Drivers Trainers Conference (Wednesday 30th August) led by highly respected academic Dr Lucy Rackliff (Aston University) who has a background that includes research and lecturing on a range of transport and related subjects. The event looks to offer a platform for debate through bringing together people involved in the commercial vehicle driver training industry to enhance their knowledge and explore the opportunities and challenges through specialised presentations, discussion and dialogue.
- National Blue Light Conference (Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st) is chaired by Byron Chandler, Police Constable within Gloucestershire Constabulary, who has firm roots in Roads’ Policing and the Police Driver Training Unit, and designed for anyone who manages or trains drivers who drive emergency vehicles during the course of their work. This can be for the public, private or voluntary sector.
- National Motorcycle Conference (Wednesday 30th August) Kevin Wilcox (Staffordshire County Council) who leads this years’ conference is a highly regarded road safety professional who leads on a number of successful rider risk reduction initiatives. The conference is designed to bring together all those who are engaged in making the roads safer for the use by motorcyclists and also alerting riders themselves to their vulnerability both in terms of the way they ride and also the manner in which other road users react to their presence.
- National Fleet Conference (Thursday 31st August) This years’ conference organiser, Alan Prosser, is an experienced road safety professional who has worked in the public and private sectors across the spectrum of casualty reduction and behavioural change initiatives. The conference is based on a structure that lends itself to a logical process to risk management for trainers, managers and operatives giving them food for thought to consider and implement changes going forward.
